April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day!
Session 1: Understanding Autism: An Overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders
This workshop will provide a general overview of autism spectrum disorders, including facts, screening & diagnosis, treatment options, and general strategies. This session will cover the “basics” about autism and provide a foundation for the other sessions. This session is recommended for parents, care givers, extended family members, teachers, school personnel, community members, and others who wish to gain more knowledge about ASDs.

Session 2: Strategies for Success: Practical Strategies for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
This workshop will focus on simple and effective strategies that parents/ caregivers can use to address communication, behavior, and social interaction in the home setting. The session will be interactive and attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and share experiences and feedback will be provided by the presenter. This session will be specifically designed for parents, caregivers, teachers, therapists, and school staff, but all are welcome.

Session 3: Autism Spectrum Disorders and the Community: Effective Strategies for Community Outings
This workshop will build upon session #2 and offer information about strategies to prepare for and attend community outings and social events with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. This session will provide practical proactive strategies to implement prior to attending community outings / social events (such as grocery shopping, eating at restaurants, attending family events, etc.). This session is designed for parents, caregivers, and teachers, therapists, and school staff, but all are welcome.
